Monster.com Job Search App Reviews

Its a decent app

Monster.com app would get a 4th or 5th star with some minor enhancements. Example: "searches" should be fully editable from the app. These days job seeking is a part time job on its own, so using a 3 inch screen on your smartphone or finding time to go to a desktop to make edits to your searches are both totally undesirable options. That enhancement alone would get the app to 4 stars

Good, but another filter would be better

This app is helpful, however it would be better if it had another filter. It would be nice if you could OMIT certain job titles or keywords. I have a hard time searching for jobs when 9/10 of the listings are for CDL drivers (which I am not interested in at all).

Über much?

99%of the results Ive found are From uber without any filters at all. If I wanted to drive for uber Id go to them.

Filter doesnt work

Will not show jobs in my area..only jobs that are 2000 miles away. Useless app

Stay on Top

Keeps me up to date on all new postings.

Hard to manage your profile

Its difficult to figure out how to modify your profile to find jobs you want to look for. Not very effective.

Couldnt be any worse

The interface was hard to use and somehow over-complicated. After my first search my "recent searches" list was empty. Most unbelievably, my search turned up no hits! Other apps have 8 new hits _today_ for same search term. Wow.

The search is too broad

Would like to see an update where I can choose the fields that I want to see what is available instead of just narrowing it down to one. Please and thank you.

Stick to website.

You cant even edit your resumes in app except for your last job company and title.

Poor Search Engine

When I search on the same job titles I use daily on Indeed, I get zero jobs returned. I was hoping to find some that Indeed missed. In fact, one company allowed me to submit a resume using a Monster login, so I at least expected their job on here - and I cant find it. Indeed is far easier. I will delete this.

Pitiful

User interface bites. Filters are pretty much worthless. If youre a good app developer looking for work, contact Monster. They desperately need help!

Typical Monster product...

Not a great app. Monster does not monitor posts. So, it gets flooded w/repetitive job posts which are of same geography. Eats up the maximum number of job search results & I cant get returns for applicable jobs. I would have given it 2 stars, but this is not just an app oversight. Monster has gotten worse and worse since 2005. Their product has become too difficult to use, lacking real user needs and too many bad posts. I just cannot refer any Monster product...including this useless app.

Good starter

There are aspects that I love about this app. Its easy to use, but frequently it includes multiple locations that should be filtered out because of distance. For example I had over a couple dozen results located in Richmond, VA when I was searching for Virginia Beach,VA. The filter was on 20 miles, but they are over 100 miles apart. This is not the only time this has happened.

Better filters needed

Theres 10,000 uber and truck driving postings I cant filter out. What if I didnt have my drivers license but took the bus to work or (like me) am not even remotely interested in that line of work? Get it together we are supposed to be professionals here!

Good luck!

This app is horrible! Dont waste your time using it. To try to edit it is almost impossible, and if you get it edited you better sign out and resign in. You will find out your settings will be totally different. Its not worth one star but they wont let you rate it unless you rate with at least one star.

Its Junk

The searches provide jobs completely and utterly unrelated to the key words or criteria that I use. Most of all the filter doesnt work at all. I live in NW New Mexico and when I filter my search results for anything within 20 or 30 miles I get jobs as far away as Boston and Pennsylvania. Worthless. Needs a lot of work.

Scam Central

I havent found any solid leads for work. The only offers Ive gotten are either scams looking for me to pay them something or jobs wanting me to scam someone else for a living! Dont waste your time with Monster!!!

Ill stick with Indeed!

When I try to upload my resume from drop box or google, it says my password and email doesnt match, when they do!!! Whats the point of using the app if I cannot upload my resume?!

Needs A Bug Fix!!

Almost very time I try to view the status of a job Ive applied to the app will close. I double tap the home button to show active apps and its still open. I click in it and it takes me back to the search screen, I go to My Jobs then Applied and again when I click on any one of them it closes. Annoying!!

Best app Ive tried!

Ive used a few different apps & this one is the easiest to use by far! Easy navigation and easy to apply for jobs! I would recommend!
